This Server Tech Rack PDU (Power Distribution Unit), also known as a CDU® (Cabinet Distribution Unit), is a Smart Rack PDU that provides power metering at the circuit level, which means power metrics can be gathered and reported on a per cabinet basis. Additionally, this Server Tech Smart PDU features PIPS™ (Per Input Power Sensing), which will monitor the power infeed/inlet to the PDU to monitor Current Load (A), Voltage (V), Power (W), Apparent Power (VA), Crest Factor, Reactance, Accumulated Energy (kWh), and Power Factor of the Inlet Power.

Server Tech Smart Rack PDUs are a step up from the Metered PDU, by adding network communication, environmental monitoring capability, & built-in software.

This rack PDU can be remotely accessed via any web-browser, monitor environmental conditions (using external sensors), send power & environmental data via SNMP, & alert admins of exceeded thresholds. With the linking capability of Server Tech PDUs, Two Server Tech PDUs within a single cabinet can share an IP Address, drastically reducing the number of network drops needed. This combined with the Server Tech SPM (Sentry Power Manager) appliance creates a powerful combination allowing managers to accuratley determine power consumption at various levels throughout the data center.
