This Server Tech Rack PDU (Power Distribution Unit), also known as a CDU® (Cabinet Distribution Unit), is a Smart POPS™ (Per Outlet Power Sensing) Rackmount PDU with PIPS™ (Per Inlet Power Sensing).
Smart POPS Rack PDUs provide power metering at the outlet level, which means power metrics can be gathered and reported on a per device basis. Additionaly, the Server Tech Smart POPS with PIPS PDUs will also monitor the power infeed/inlet to the PDU to monitor Current Load (A), Voltage (V), Power (W), Apparent Power (VA), Crest Factor, Reactance, Accumulated Energy (kWh), and Power Factor per Inlet.
Blade servers and high density computing power requirements continue to increase within the Data Center, creating heat proliferation and more challenges for managing the IT environment. To maintain their competitive advantage, data center managers need solutions such as Sentry Smart POPS (Per Outlet Power Sensing) units that monitor, track and manage servers and IT equipment and the equipment cabinet infrastructure that houses them.
Sentry Smart POPS has all the features and functions of an Intelligent Cabinet PDU with the ability to provide power monitoring per an individual outlet/device. This combined with the Server Tech SPM (Sentry Power Manager) appliance creates a powerful combination allowing managers to accuratley determine power consumption at various levels throughout the data center.
Power Information Per Individual Outlet
Using grouping technology, power information is available per device, groups of devices (application), individual Cabinet PDU or cabinet.
